A new name and a new beginning
HB Markets plc was previously known as Hoodless Brennan plc - the change of name happened on 15th February 2010. The name change was the result of a major review of the company’s future business strategy following changes at senior management level and following the sale of Hoodless Brennan’s multi-award winning online share dealing service to TD Waterhouse Investment Services Ltd.
A successful and effective past
Hoodless Brennan plc was founded in 1992 and the ensuing years saw it become one of the fastest growing independent stockbrokers in the UK. Over the years the company won many prestigious awards for its price leading, execution only, online share dealing service.
However, the market for online share dealing became extremely competitive so much so ever narrowing margins meant only the largest players could possibly make a profitable long-term business from online execution only broking. Therefore, the company sold its online service in September 2009.
The road ahead
The name of HB Markets plc more closely reflects the type of business the majority of our clients have come to expect. Today HB Markets plc directs all its attention and resources on improving its range of existing products and services i.e. advisory stockbroking, research and analysis, CFD and Spread Betting services. The company is focusing increasing attention upon designing, building and delivering new products and services including those required by the corporate and small business sectors.
We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority and are members of the London Stock Exchange, PLUS Markets and APCIMS.
